May and June 2016

May has a lot of activities centered around "Community and Service" which are both important values taught to scouts. Pack 79 collected food donations at ShopRite in Hamilton Marketplace on May 2nd. We collected over 500 food items AND almost $500 in cash. This was all delivered to the Robbinsville food pantry. Later this month we will have our crossing over ceremony for boys in 5th grade who are going on to Boy Scouts. Finally for Memorial Day we will honor the Armed Forces by placing American flags on the graves of all those who have served.

Enrollment is officially open and you will begin noticing signs around town and a flyer will come home with the kids at school. Cubmaster Steve will be speaking with boys in kindergarten about joining Pack 79. Last year we went into the school and the boys were VERY FIRED UP during our presentation about scouting. Enrollment exploded and today we are one of the largest and most active packs in Mercer County. We are happy to go back!

June you will be seeing us around town: We have the cabinet again at Robbinsville library by the check-out desk. Another exciting display is being developed! We will also have a FUN table at Community Day on June 11th. From 2:30-3:30 our scouts will be showing kids how to solve the Rubik's cube and we'll host some solving races so boys and girls should bring their cubes that day. We are also hoping to get our "Rain gutter Regata" sailboat activity going too! Pack 79 families will be enjoying our annual Family Picnic and later in the month we will attending a Trenton Thunder baseball game. Families are invited to sleepover in tents on the field after the game and the stadium shows a movie on their big screen.
