Fall 2016

Post date: Sep 03, 2016 4:5:10 PM

Back-to-school time! The fall is always an exciting time for us because we will enroll a lot of new families to Pack 79. Summer brought us 7 new families. Kids will get a flyer home the first week about how to join.

The fall campout is expecting over 80 people in September!! This year we are trying Oak Spring Girl Scout campsite. It may sound strange that a cub scout pack is going to a girl scout camp but those girls had a lot of adventure to offer: Zip lining, hiking, gaga game pit, indoor bathrooms, tent site AND cabins. Families will enjoy a dinner made by the Bears, s'mores prepared by Arrow of Lights, and breakfast cooked by Webelos. Boys will work on achievements like fire building, hiking, animal appreciation...something for everyone!

The pack will be apple picking as a group at the end of the month.

4th graders will be attending a "First Responder" training and "Aquanaut" water seminar.

4th and 5th graders will have an opportunity to camp with Boy Scout Troops in the area this fall. We have already been invited by several local troops. Camping is a great way to meet the troops and see which one is a good fit for your son (5th grade boys transition to Boy Scouts in May 2017).
